Cultural practices in European riverine floodplains: formation, typology, co-decline of biocultural diversity, and emerging drivers of conservation and sustainable management” is available (open access) at this link - https://natureconservation.pensoft.net/article/156771/ .

This recent paper delivers the first general catalogue of human social practices in riverine floodplains, based on previous work of the Ramsar wetlands culture group. This is in important step towards a more refined typology, for conservation activities for Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), but also to anchor activities that serve the sustainability transformation within society by fostering the sense of belonging.

This work results from activities of the EUCOR and UNESCO Chairs, the OneWater project, the ITI SWITCH, and the ENCA (European Network of Heads of Nature Conservation Agencies, https://www.encanetwork.eu/) meeting on European Floodplain Conservation in Bonn, September 2023.
