Dr Luis Santamaría, Director, Doñana Biological Station, is a notable ecologist who has worked extensively on the conservation of wetlands, with a particular focus on the Doñana National Park. Located in the southwest of Spain, Doñana is one of Europe’s most important natural reserves, home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, including numerous endangered species.
