Yixin Cao joins Eucor Chair & PEPR OneWater

Topic of the postdoc: Reflect human–non-human relationships with water and develop innovative water governance frameworks that integrates non-human perspectives

Yixin Cao is a postdoctoral researcher at l’Institut Terre et Environnement de Strasbourg (ITES) at the University of Strasbourg (Feb 2025 - present). She defended her PhD thesis on "River Management from a Socio-Ecological System Perspective and Human-River Relationships" in 2023, at the University of Tours, receiving mention très honorable. In 2024, she worked on a postdoctoral project on urban river bathing at the University of Lyon. In Strasbourg, her current work focuses on water social-ecological governance, incorporating the perspectives of non-human beings, within the framework of Accompagner les transitions socio-écologiques (PC7) of the PEPR programme OneWater – Eau Bien Commun (https://www.onewater.fr/fr). Yixin Cao has research experience in Europe and Asia, with expertise in water management/governance, river restoration, social-ecological systems, and human-nature relationships. She is also interested in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration, striving to bridge the gap between science, policy, and society.

Inauguration de la Chaire "Eau& Durbailité"  le 28 février 2025

L’Université de Strasbourg et la Fondation de l’Université et des Hôpitaux universitaires de Strasbourg, ont inauguré le 28 février 2025, la Chaire « Eau & Durabilité » dont le Professeur Karl Matthias Wantzen est le titulaire. Ce projet reflète l’ambition de se positionner comme pilote d’une dynamique collective autour de l’enjeu sociétal majeur qu’est la gestion durable de l’eau.
