The Develop and Initiate calls for proposals are now open
Context and objectives of ITI SWITCH
Launched in January 2025, ITI SWITCH brings together research units, academic departments, and doctoral schools to strengthen interdisciplinarity in both research and training, while enhancing the international visibility of the University of Strasbourg.
Its main objectives are to:
- Strengthen research capabilities in environmental and sustainability sciences
- Promote interdisciplinary approaches and international collaboration
- Foster societal engagement
Each year, ITI SWITCH supports research projects addressing six challenges across three main work packages (WPs):
- WP1: Dynamics of urban and terrestrial socio-ecological and hydrological systems
- WP2: Sustainable trajectories of socio-ecological systems
- WP3: Governance of socio-ecological and hydrological systems
Types of Funding
- Develop: PhD and postdoctoral positions to advance high-level interdisciplinary research
- Initiate: Master’s thesis projects
- Empower: Projects involving multiple partners to strengthen transdisciplinary research
